Heatherwick Studio exists to make unique design projects happen. Established by Thomas Heatherwick in 1994, it is recognized for its work in architecture, sculpture, urban infrastructure, product design, exhibition design and strategic thinking.

The practice operates from a studio and workshop in Kings Cross, London. This is an environment in which project management and implementation takes place in parallel with model-making, prototyping and experimentation with ideas, materials and manufacturing processes.

Born in London, Thomas Heatherwick trained as a designer at Manchester Metropolitan University and at the Royal College of Art, London. He is an honorary fellow of the RIBA, a Royal Designer for Industry, a Senior Fellow of the Royal College of Art and has honorary doctorates from Sheffield Hallam, Manchester Metropolitan, Brighton and Dundee Universities.
